My Chiang Rai Home

Chiang Rai at last!! It is so so great to be back at home in Chiang Rai! I'm staying in the same room I had last year, and also in the same bed. It's almost as if I never left... There's a bunch of people that came out for Karis' wedding that I lived with and did DTS with last year. It's a nice little reunion. Karis also did DTS with me, and is now marrying one of the Thai staff - Noom. What a beautiful couple they are!!! I got to watch the early stages of their relationship last year, and now I get to watch them as they publicly declare their love for each other, and submit themselves to each-other in marriage.

Yesterday was her Bachelorette party which was a blast. Thai massage, pedicures, manicures, dinner and Swensens. It was nice getting to know some of her Aussie friends that came out. In total I think there was about 7 different countries represented there, so it was pretty neat!

Tonight was the wedding dress rehearsal. It is going to be a beautiful wedding!! There were tons of Thai's in Baan Athitaan Church (my home church last year while I was here) that were making flower arrangements from scratch. I was so amazed at the creativity they have! The decorations, flower arrangements and stuff were just awesome! Afterwards there was a big dinner here at the base for everyone that has come out. They slaughtered a cow this afternoon, so a feast was in order! It was so nice to see everyone that came out from all over Thailand. There was actually a lot of people that I didn't think were going to make it that showed up, so it was a real blessing to be able catch up with them!

Well its off to bed for now... it'll be a busy fun filled day of celebration tomorrow!
